Circular Business Design
Circo Circular Business Track powers the development of the Circular Economy, driven by Design. Companies work together with designers on developing circular products, services and business models. They do so by sharing knowledge, experience and inspiration with their network.
“Creating business through circular design” is a project, that inspires and facilitates the manufacturing industry to ‘Go Circular’, using a circular design approach. Our mission is make circular design the new default.

What’s in it for me?
As a participtant you will explore new circular business opportunities for your company through our circular design methodology in a series of three workshops. At the end of day three you will have developed a new circular proposition, enclosing a business model, product (re) design and additional services/ processes. During the workshops you will gather new knowledge about the circular economy in general, circular design and circular business models. Furthermore interaction with the other participating companies during the process offer new insights and open opportunities for potential collaboration.
Who’s it for?
Manufacturing companies that aspire to develop a (more) circular and sustainable business. In each track up to 10 companies participate. Per company we ask two people to enrol in the workshop. A designer / business developer / engineer and someone from the business part of the organization, familiar with the market, customers and preferably other stakeholders. Much added value derives from combining innovative circular product design with business.
Daytime activities are organized in such a way that participants work as much as possible on their own circular case. This is done in a mix of

Day 1: Initate
This workshop delves deeper into the (design) principals of the circular economy. Together with other companies and designers, loss of valuable materials, products and components across the current value chain is mapped out and resulting circular business opportunities are identified and selected.
A brief introduction, what is circular economy?
Experience value destruction with tour or tear down workshop
Mapping current value chain opportunities based on value destruction and value creation
Introduction of the Products that Last framework. Encompassing Circular design strategies and business models
Selecting the most valueable circular opportunities and formulating an ambition statement
Day 2: Ideate
The most interesting circular opportunity from the first workshop will be elaborated further using the circular design strategies and business models from "Products that Last *". This results in a circular customer proposition with a business model, product (re) design and additional services.

Day 3: Implement
Day thee is all about implementation. Every company designs an implementation roadmap to bring its circular proposition to market. To finish of with a bang, participants pitch their new Circular Business proposition.
